CURRENT AFFAIRS INDIA - 12 JULY 2015

1. India has launched rocket PSLV-C28 with five British satellites into orbit on its space from Isro's Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Srikarihota in Andhra Pradesh on 10th July. The rocket blasted off the first launch pad with five satellites together weighing around 1,440kg, which was also the space agency's heaviest commercial mission so far.

2. The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) has launched two mobile based applications to help farmers get prices on shrimp and capture data on aquaculture through mobile. MPEDA also revamped its website and launched an online registration portal for exporters.

MPEDA is a nodal agency for promotion of marine exports from India under Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

3. Indian Tennis player Sania Mirza along with her partner Martina Hingis won the Wimbledon Women's double title after defeating second seed Russian team of Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina by 5-7 7-6(4) 7-5 in the final match. With this win, she also became the first Indian woman player to win a women's doubles Grand Slam trophy.
