CURRENT AFFAIRS INDIA - 28 JUNE 2015

1. Light Combat Helicopter (LCH), indigenously designed and developed by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), has successfully completed the hot weather trails yesterday

The combat helicopter had completed cold weather flight testing in February 2015 and can now be used by Indian air force. The helicopter is designed to carry out dedicated combat roles such as Air Defence, anti-tank, scout and support combat search/rescue missions.

2. Indian Government has announced to infuse additional USD 1.8 billion (nearly Rs 11,500 crore) in public sector banks this fiscal year which is over the USD 1.2 billion already announced in the Budget. The government has earmarked Rs 7,940 crore in the Budget for recapitalization of PSU banks for the current fiscal.

3. India has been ranked at the fourth largest carbon emitter in the world in terms of per capita emission accounting for 6.6 % of global emissions for the year 2012, as per list published by the World Resources Institute (WRI) in its latest analyses of the country-wise carbon emissions of climate-damaging greenhouse gases (GHGs).

As per the analysis, the top 10 emitters are China (25.26%), US (14.4%), European Union (10.16%), India (6.69%), Russia (5.36%), Japan (3.11%), Brazil (2.34%), Indonesia (1.76%), Mexico (1.67%) and Iran (1.65%).
